prev home archive next Momentary Thought This space will fluctuate widely in content, I suspect. I begin to see why site redesigns are so addictive. But hey, six months with one design is pretty good, right? High/Low High: It's Friday, I'm proud of my redesign, I'm proud of my collab, and I've got a date with Calvin tonight. Low: I'm having trouble thinking of one. Which is another high in and of itself. Whee! Heh heh heh. Okay, I'm having way too much fun over here. I didn't do an entire site redesign, no, but I did change the look and feel of my entry pages. I like it. It brings me happiness. Besides, I am easily amused. So! Expect to see what you see in the left hand column (I'm thinking the intent is pretty self explanatory). It'll probably change around, be added to, deleted from, etc. etc. ad nauseum as my mood dictates. But note where the navigation links are, for future reference. They'll stay put. Do ya like? Do ya? Another thing I am rather proud of and excited about is a new feature to this website, Storyteller. All the details of the endeavor are on the Storyteller page, but in a nutshell it's a collaboration for folks who like to write fiction, short stories, character sketches, and the like. I'd noticed that a lot of collaborative efforts centered around the creators of journal-type websites. I went a bit further and extended the eligibility to include not only my journaling friends and colleagues, but also those who don't have websites at all (they can send me their entries via e-mail and I'll post it for 'em). Or those who have websites where it wouldn't be appropriate to post fictional writing. Or those who may be taking a hiatus but still want to keep their writing hand in. I'm also a little nervous about it. I mean, what if it doesn't fly? What if my writing collab ideas are stupid? It would be embarrassing to have a collaboration that nobody participates in. But, I take the leap anyway. Writing is a big part of my life, and not just writing *about* my life. I'm hoping to hone my own writing skills with this, and perpetuate a fun on-line community. We shall see how it goes. But do me a favor and spread the word, would you be so kind? There's a love. ******************** Tonight Calvin and I are celebrating a belated Valentine's at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. One reader shot me an e-mail, after I mentioned it in a previous entry, asking the history of the name of the restaurant. I have no idea. I shall find out tonight and report accordingly. I'm very excited about tonight, for some reason. I mean, it's just going out to dinner, but I'm just as thrilled about it as if it were a first date. Perhaps it feels that way for a reason. I'm dying to spend some quality time with Calvin and reconnect. I can feel an upswing coming on, I think, after these last few weeks of stress and busyness and the inability to relax together. I don't need reminding that he's my best friend, but sometimes I do catch myself sliding into complacency. Not paying as much attention to him as I used to. Granted, it's a two way street and we've both been very tired and busy lately. Ah, well, it will be remedied this weekend, if I have anything to say about it. So! On that note, enjoy your weekend, guys. I intend to. Explore around here to your heart's content, and please let me know what you think! I highly respect your opinions. As long as they're not bad ones. Heh. Just kidding. Mostly. Be kind to my fragile ego. ~grin~ |

Results From Yesterday's Mission Hah. I try to think of a way to revitalize the Missions, and I do all that other stuff instead. Such is the way my mind works. Should I add the mission space to the sidebar, do you think? |
