Other than the 7:30 meeting I had this morning, I have no other meetings all day. I guess that counts as a high. Low: Poor Sherry has lost her grandmother. Stuff that I *will* accomplish. I post them here in an effort to be held accountable for their completion. Not that you have to bug me or anything. Or maybe you should. Who knows. Whatever floats your boat.Laura's To-Do ListDebt ConsolidationYeah. I've got a couple of avenues I can go in. All it takes is making phone calls and getting paperwork together. For crying out loud, I'm spending a stupid amount of money on minimum payments every month, and the interest rates range from 13% all the way up to 23% on the suckers. So. Gotta get the ball rolling on this one. The Damned Garage The garage has been a dumping ground for everything we don't wish to clutter the house up with, ever since we started our remodeling efforts last year. The junk in there is a safety hazard, it's so mountainous. At least a dozen dump runs are necessary to even make a dent in the stuff. Our camping gear is in there somewhere, and I want to use that stuff soon. Plus, Calvin's motorcycle needs a comfier bed than the barely-adequate space we cleared for it. As Calvin says, "Nothing's better motivation to clean out the garage than getting a new motorcycle!" Collaboration Entries Gee, unlike last month, I probably ought to write a blessed entry for my own collaboration. Plus, The If Project has got a great topic this month. So does Ampersand. And probably a bunch of others out there that I'm not aware of. I'm a writer, darn it all. I should practice my art. Heh. Archive The Digital Pictures We have a ton of digital pictures on the PC that really need to be burned onto a CD so they're not lost if the computer crashes. I was supposed to do this in January. Yeah. Use The Stupid Camera Some time ago I made the statement that I would start bringing the digital camera with me more places, and adding to our photo collection. I don't think one picture has been taken so far in 2001. This is bad, because events and days and memories are passing us by without anything to record them. I like having that visual record. It's almost a need. I have very few pictures of my own childhood and family, I want them to be plentiful for my current life and family. So. Now to do something about it. The Mundane Just buck it up and do it. The housecleaning. The floor mopping. The weekly (daily!) checkbook balancing. The catbox cleaning. The shower scrubbing. The laundry folding. The dusting. The removal of ashes from the fireplace. Clean out the stupid kitchen closets. Clean out the stupid closet under the stairs. Organize my stupid bedroom closet. (All of our closets are stupid.) Michael's bedroom and bathroom need a good going over, since he's not at our house much anymore. The darned light fixtures need to be dusted. The computer room needs to be detrashed. Just flipping do it all. Set a day, every week, to do it all. Dammit. |

Your Mission, should you choose to accept it...
I'm hosting a party for Marie and her friends to celebrate the end of the school year. It'll be toward the end of May. Please give me tips on a) how to keep a dozen 12-and-13-year-old's entertained and out of mischief; and b) how to prevent myself from getting totally stressed and going totally crazy. |
