prev home archive next Momentary Thought Hope this page doesn't take too long to load. High/Low High: Had an exceedingly productive weekend, and I have a short workweek this week! *And* I actually got my butt out of bed this morning and worked out. **AND** I've passed the 5,000 visitor mark today! Low: Dr's appt. today for, erm, "girl stuff". *But*, it went okay. I'll just say this - if you're fortunate enough to have a doctor with the ability to make you *laugh* while you're in the stirrups, this is a person you need to grab onto with both hands and DON'T LET GO! Current Obsession Feeling better, for crying out loud! Plus getting the new Journey CD, and Rod Stewart's greatest hits, and KC and the Sunshine Band, and maybe Bon Jovi's new CD. Grin Source Michael acted like a complete and total weirdo goof this morning. Me, I need to eaaase into my day a bit more slowly. Storyteller Bio Dramatis Personnae Who I Read Recipes |
Remember my resolutions of last week? Oh, I'm so proud of myself. We cleaned the garage. I used "the stupid camera". And I cleaned the house from top to bottom. And we played a lot with the motorcycle. It was a good weekend. And as promised to my Notified Readers (see why you should sign up, if you haven't? You miss all kinds of stuff), evidence thereof in the form of pictures. Sorry if the alignment of some of these pictures is goofy - I tried to get creative and that sometimes backfires on me.
Viv's pictures inspired me to go out on Friday night and goof around with the camera in the front yard. That's where the two new (PhotoShopped) pictures on the index page came from, too. This is a night shot of a branch of one of the bougainvilleas that's taking over our yard. Calvin saying "hi" for the first time to his baby. The poor guy. His plane was four hours late and we didn't get home until about 10:00. All fatigue was forgotten, though, when he got his hands on this. He took it for a quick spin to break it in, and we went riding until after midnight. Michael was just as excited about the motorcycle as Calvin (well, maybe not quite).Keep going, more stuff down below... |
| Last motorcycle picture, I promise. Man, we had fun on this thing this weekend, though. The only down side is helmet hair, but I bought a hat ("No Fear!") and that makes me good to go. | ![]() |

The moon through the tree in the front yard. I need to get better lenses for the digital camera. |
| In search of more pictures, I went into the back yard. This is a photo of Marie and her friend K, through the window in the computer room. | ![]() |

Devil Dog Gadget. |
| The whole gang of kids. The typical list of inhabitants on the weekend include Marie, her friend K, Michael, and his friend I. And me, and Calvin, and three dogs, and a cat, and a ferret. And a partridge in a pear tree. | ![]() |

Saturday morning Calvin made his excellent skillet breakfast. Hashbrowns, eggs, hamburger, salsa, cheese, worcestershire, jalapenos, garlic, salt and pepper, all gooey-ed up together. Eat straight or in a warmed tortilla. Yummy caloric goodness! |
| Evidence of our productivity. We took everything out of the garage. Filled the Suburban, Calvin's work truck, and both trash bins to capacity with garbage. Put back the (enormous amount of) stuff we're keeping. That can be summarized into ski stuff, camping stuff, Christmas stuff, bikes, tools, and painting/drywall equipment. Oh, plus my FOUR HUGE BOXES of books. See my saddle in there? I refuse to sell it out of undying optimism. | ![]() |

Calvin, indulging in a well-earned beer after cleaning out the garage. |
| Juno. "No-boooody knows... the trubble I seen..." Give her a tin cup to rattle against the "bars" and you get the visual. | ![]() |

Marie doing Superman with the rat. |
| World premiere photo of Minerva! Her favorite perch, on the sill of the window at the top of the stairs. Here she is relatively safe from the ferret and the dogs. | ![]() |
