Desert Botanical Garden

As an Easter treat, we decided to head out for some lunch and then go to the Desert Botanical Garden. Marie and Calvin manned the 35mm, while I opted for the instant gratification of the digital camera. The fruits of which I now share with you...

One of the black and yellow butterflies inhabiting the annual Butterfly Pavilion.

I'm fond of taking pictures of branches against the sky.

The Buttes in the distance.

Cactus. This being the Desert Botanical Gardens, and all.

Saguaro tend to be very tall. People have been killed when these puppies tip over. The holes are where woodpeckers are making their homes.

Love this picture.

Some organ pipe cactus, looking like lava.

A monarch butterfly.

And another.

Orange!

More organ pipe cactus.

The crowded butterfly pavilion.

A pitty wellow flower.

A miscellaneous prickly thing.

One of the many sculptures scattered about the grounds.

Love this one.

Marie was a shutterbug, practicing for next year when she takes photography in school.

Calvin, doing what he does best. Offering advice.

The terrace leading to a little outdoor cafe.

More orange butterflies.

Shiney happy yellow dots!
