I enjoy the fact that every Friday, a volunteer brings in breakfast for the department. I like snagging a bit of fruit, a half of a bagel, and a bit of OJ. And I feel guilty because, while I am partaking of the bounty, I have not volunteered on the sign-up list to bring in breakfast. I suppose I'm a bad, bad person for that. Screw it.

Friday, Friday, Friday!!! And, we just learned that our second mortgage has qualified for a lower interest rate (we just refi'ed the first for a lower rate, too). We're keeping the same payment arrangements, which means that more money goes toward the principal balance. Gotta love money management, sometimes.

My economics professor assigned an assload of homework on Tuesday because we didn't have class on Thursday.

"Forensic Accountant". Heh. (Good talking to you, Dawn!)

"The eentsy-weentsy spider went up the water spout..." Picture, if you will, Calvin and I laying in bed at 11:30 last night, singing and doing the hand motions. In unison. It was so special.

April 16, 2004
The collab topic for this month is "annoying". A list of my current annoyances, for your entertainment:
- That Jose Ole commercial with the Mom/Housewife/Psycho Woman hollering "Ole!" as she reveals her tastefully presented yet still friggin' frozen junk food dinner to her awe struck family.
- My cubicle neighbor, who has had a veritable series of teleconferences during which he seems to have to lecture at the top of his lungs. Dude, you're at an eight, I need you at about a three.
- The local Top 40 station, that plays the same six songs over and over and over and over. Calvin and I know this - we were listening to this station while doing yard work last weekend. They recycled the same songs within the same hour. "With You" by Jessica Simpson, "Yeah" by Usher, "Tipsy" by whoever sings it (Chingy? No wait, just looked it up, it's J-Kwon), "Toxic" by Britney Spears, "My Immortal" by Evanescence (GOD I am SO OVER THEM), and "Bounce" by Sarah Connor. I kid you not. They played them, and then they repeated them.
- The fact that I got summoned for Jury Duty during the same week as finals.
- Jon Peter Lewis.
- Calvin and I got all ready to watch Must See TV last night. We were under the impression that Friends was FINALLY a new episode, and we made sure to be home, with munchies, in front of the TV, by 7:00. And then? Not one, but two repeats in a row. At least CSI was new. And thank GOD The Apprentice is over with.
- Speaking of which... Donald Trump. More specifically, Donald Trump's hair.
- Economics homework.
- People who blow their nose in public. Like the guy walking down the hallway right now. And whoever the guy is that blows his nose REALLY loud, a few isles down, every single morning. What a thing to be greeted by, first thing.
- The FBI and the CIA not sharing intelligence. We're all protecting the SAME COUNTRY, people. Who the hell cares who gets "credit" or whose "territory" it is? Power trippers and control freaks have no right to be in charge of our national security. And what the hell is it with all the procedures and forms and bullshit that has to be muddled through and filed and signed off in triplicate? If there's a red fucking flag going up in your face, pick up the goddamn phone and WARN people.
- Dammit.
- The fact that we haven't won the lottery.
- The fact that my sister keeps blowing me off and won't return my phone calls. Is she pissed? Who the hell knows.
- Nicholas Brendon's role in "Celeste in the City". Oh, honey, he plays SUCH a bad gay man. Bad bad bad. I'm afraid Xander was the only role for him. I couldn't even watch - it made my eyes bleed.
- Oh, man. Cube neighbor's off on another lecture again. Where are my headphones...
- All of these still qualify, pretty much. We finally captured Saddam, though. It still annoyed me that it took so long.
Thus ends my rant. My next entry should be a great deal more cheery, as Michael and Lilly and the baby are coming in for a visit tonight. Plan on pictures, I'm sure there'll be a ton.
