Happy Saturday

Hello there! A new look! I wanted something bright to celebrate the first summer vacation I've had since I was in high school. Eventually the index page, and maybe the bio/archive/recipes/etc. pages will be changed in similar fashion. I'm just happy I got this thing to work, thanks to some adroit IM-ing with a certain Canadian friend whose grasp of HTML is better than mine.

Stupid mofo tables.

So! Tell me if you like it, or if it hurts your eyes, or what. I asked Calvin, he said "I hate the colors", and I kept 'em anyway. But I might heed your requests or suggestions, you never know.

Another reason for this bright and happy design... if you aren't a member of my Notify List then you didn't hear the news first (go ye forth and sign up!). Michael called a few nights ago to let us know that they've learned the gender of the baby. They're expecting a boy! ("Guess what, Marie! You're going to be an Uncle!")

Notify members were also promised a recap of the Yanni concert, which I would love to gush about here and now, but Calvin is all by himself fixing the hole. I can't be of much help at this point, but he's so miserable about having to do it that I promised I would do an equally miserable task (in this case, cleaning out the garage) at the same time. Woo, and also, hoo.

So I'll end this by saying that this month is going to RAWK - I've gone to two happy hours thus far (one Thursday, one Friday), have three more scheduled for this month (one in celebration of my sabbatical, the others in celebration of two other people's sabbaticals), a graduation to go to for my friend D (she's getting her Master's), followed by a cookout at her house, and a party to follow that (she rented a limo bus for us all to go club hopping!). There's also a cookout at another friend's house, the Journey/REO/Styx concert, and only 18 working days left to have to deal with.

Stoke.
