June 21, 2002HousekeepingI'm just writing this blurb of an entry to let you all know of some housekeeping I've done around here, which has resulted in some changes. As you can tell, I've changed the format of my entries. The sidebar comments were just generating too much distraction to me - often times I had to dig to think of them. My momentary thought usually coincided with what I was writing. The grin sources were often things I couldn't summarize in a few words. The highs and lows weren't very much either, or were one or the other to such an extent that it warranted an entire entry. Etc. etc., you get the picture. It's all part of my grand scheme to simplify and make my website a more writer-friendly place to, erm, write. With that said, I've also taken down my Blog, "Unomomento". I doubt anyone will miss it. I started it up on a whim, and then discovered that instead of simplifying my updates, it became just another aspect of this site that was available to neglect. I wasn't maintaining my Sampler page, so I took that down, too. But I have augmented my archives to indicate which entries were collaborations, and which entries have photographs. I've also streamlined my recipes page - I realized it wasn't really necessary to reference the entry the recipe came out of. So! It's just a list of foods, hyperlinked to the respective entry. And finally, FINALLY, I have updated my links page. The last couple of things I plan on doing is updating my welcome message and my bio page. All in good time. A webmistress' job is never done. |
