How I spent the second day of my summer vacation.
A WordGoddess contribution

6:00 a.m. - Calvin turns on the TV in the bedroom and settles in with his newspaper. I loll around and bury my head in the pillow.

6:30 a.m. - Calvin leaves for work, I debate going back to sleep. Instead, I read the rest of my book.

8:00 a.m. - I start to get ravenously hungry. I decide to make breakfast (and I can just hear Calvin now, "You eat too much!").

8:15 a.m. - Breakfast is ready. While preparing it, I am astonished to hear Marie's shower start up, upstairs. For her to be up this early when she doesn't have to is completely unheard of.

8:20 a.m. - Whilst eating, I read:

Jen, and

Jette.

I peruse other journals, but no one has updated.

8:45 a.m. - While updating my food intake over at FitDay, I hear a noise. Upon investigation...

...it's bad Ozzy, goofing around in the water closet, probably trying to get into the trash can.

9:00 a.m. - I launch HomeSite and begin on today's entry.

9:40 a.m. - I stop goofing off and finally get to the dirty business of paying bills...

...while Ozzy spies on me from the bathroom.

10:20 a.m. - I strip the sheets and re-make the bed.

10:45 a.m. - Done putting more stuff into today's entry, so! Time to work out.

11:45 a.m. - Added some water and chlorine to the hot tub (which is set at a cool 90 degrees, in comparison to the 107 degree weather we're "enjoying" today).

11:55 a.m. - Sprayed off the hot dogs, and turned on the misters around the back patio for them. Two seconds before I shot this, they were sitting pretty and "smiling" at me. Then, of course, as soon as I press the button, they turn their heads.

12:00 p.m. - Worked on my tan for a bit!

12:50 p.m. - Ugh. Shower. And necessary tasks following it, while stepping over and around a certain anti-gentleman cat, who wouldn't (never does, really) move out of the way.

1:30 p.m. - Sitting down to lunch. I fixed a grilled cheese sandwich and a sliced apple for Marie, and I had this:

1:35 p.m. - Received a heart-rending e-mail from a dear friend, which prompted me to want to dash off right away, fly to her come hell or high water, and give her as many hugs as she can take.

1:50 p.m. - IM with Marie, answer some more e-mail.

2:10 p.m. - Off to watch some more of Buffy: Season Three.

4:30 p.m. - Marie and I are finally Buffied out. Calvin comes home, I wander between chatting with him while he's sitting at the computer, and the living room where the end of Trading Spaces is on. I get bored quickly.

5:00 p.m. - Marie is cleaning the kitchen (I'm waiting for her to get done so I can start dinner - we'll be having ziti, garlic bread, and salad), I'm updating today's continuing saga in this entry, Calvin's taken over the T.V. The cat just took a flying leap into my lap and made me type a;lkupoaier. I think it's French.

5:20 p.m. - Marie's done with the kitchen, I start dinner.

6:00 p.m. - AB arrives to have dinner with us, and brings along our tickets for Hawaii (and two bon voyage gifts, hee!). We hang out and catch up, drink wine and eat, and have such a nice time that I completely forgot to take any pictures, as I intended to do.

8:20 p.m. - After twelve goodbyes, and talking in the driveway for fifteen minutes, AB finally has to head home. I decide to finally finish up this day-long entry so I can hang in front of the TV for the rest of the night. I get a final parting shot of Calvin, amidst his protests:

This has been a WordGoddess contribution, "Day in the life".
