It's not so bad.

Hello! I have survived the trek across the mighty ocean and I'm here to not quite tell you about it. Yet. See, as I've taken twenty-two pages of notes (that's notes, not complete sentences, and that only takes me up to Saturday morning, my pretties, when we left on Monday afternoon), I think it's safe to say that the summation of this trip will not be tidily and speedily accomplished. Besides which, the film (thirteen rolls, two of them 36 exposure, the rest 24) won't be ready until tonight, and I have yet to figure out how I can get still shots off of the two complete tapes of video we filmed. One cannot live off of digital images alone (thirteen disks worth).

It's safe to say we documented the hell outta this trip.

Bookending the Maui vacation was a manicure and pedicure for Marie and I the day before we left (how I have lived without paraffin treatments before this is a mystery), and couch potatoing and Ozzy bonding since we got back on Monday at midnight. The manicure didn't survive the trip. Ozzy did. Heather watched over him while we were gone, and left the most hysterical notes telling about her visits.

We've already watched the vacation videos, Calvin complaining that I got too many shots of hot men and not enough shots of boobies. Since he was the one using the 35mm camera for most of the trip, we shall see how many strangers and their accompanying assets (groan) show up in our pictures when I pick them up tonight.

I am mightily out of practice in writing entries. I have laundry to finish - laundry which will pretty much be going right back into the suitcase, as Marie and I leave for Maine one week from Saturday. I am going to be SO sick of traveling by the end of my Sabbatical. I also have three pounds of Maui eating to lose - yet even seeing the elevated number on the scale didn't get me too down. It could have been worse, after all.

Oh! And Calvin and I celebrate our one year anniversary on Sunday! It's hard to believe that we've been married only a year - it feels like it's been a lot longer than that. Probably because we've *felt* married for years, now.

My cat is demanding my attention - I've tossed him off of my lap four times in the last thirty seconds so I can type - so I shall wrap up this non-entry with a picture of the three of us before the luau at the Hyatt Regency (oh my GOD what a hotel). I have no idea what was up with my hair, but you get the jist of things.

All in all I have to say, we were ready to come home, and it's not so bad to be here.
