Endless Possibilities

Last night's migraine resulted in about two hours of accumulated sleep. As such, I got up this morning feeling wired and light headed. So I called in.

Of course, this means I can't sleep. I knew I'd just toss, so I didn't even try. I'm fully functional, just feeling floaty.

So I have a full day on my hands, and endless possibilities with which to fill it. Do chores? Soak in the hot tub? How about cooking up them turtle brownies I thought about last night? Do my WordGoddess or On Display entries? Take Marie school clothes shopping? Archive my website? Bathe the dogs? Go shopping for frames for my San Francisco pencil drawings? Finish the album I'm sending my sister of our wedding pictures?

Or sit on my butt in front of the TV and watch eight more episodes of the first season of Sex in the City.

So far, it's that last one that's winning. I guess it's a problem of too many choices. But it's only 7:30. I'm just going to take today as it comes and not feel obligated to do anything.

I have 10 months to go before my sabbatical. I plan to spend each and every day in just this state of indecision.

*****Later*****

1:12 p.m., and so far I have watched 8 episodes of Sex in the City, worked out, showered, straightened up a little, surfed several websites, and had what I shall hereafter refer to as "Dragon Breath Lunch" - two pieces of flatbread, topped with spicy humus, tomato slices, red bell pepper, red onion, black olives, and feta, sprinkled with italian spices, salt and pepper, and broiled in the oven for two minutes. Cut up pizza-style and nibbled on while guffawing over Weetabix.

Yummmm.

This afternoon: To Trader Joe's for more flat bread and some fish, to Mervyn's for Marie's yearly stock up on jeans, make a garbanzo bean salad, and make ziti for supper.

I'm wearing overall shorts, and my hair is back in bobby pins. I look like I'm twelve years old.

I shall womanfully stay away from the book store. Does Father Tim overcome his shyness and decide to go steady with his neighbor Cynthia? Does Dooley ever learn how to clean behind his ears? Was the Rose Festival a success? Only if the library carries Jan Karon will I find out anytime soon, because Amazon is putting me into debt at an alarming rate.

In the way of a P.S., hooray for Athena! And Archibael and his wife have a new baby girl in the family!

And I'm hosting a baby shower next week for not one, but *two* co-workers, and another co-worker recently 'fessed that she's expecting, and Sherry is expecting (of Blowing Bubbles, I'd link her but I only have her old URL here at home), and Anna is experiencing new motherhood, and didn't a couple of other folks in the journalling community just reveal that they're pregnant, too?

Babies babies everywhere...
