This is Beth and Jim, Brad's parents, at the gathering we had after Grandma's funeral. Their support during the whole ordeal of Grandma's passing was indescribable. The morning of Grandma's death, my sister and I went to Grandma's house to be with the relatives. I walked over to Beth and Jim's house, just as I had all through my childhood years. Beth was walking down toward her garden as I walked up their driveway, and it was just as if the years fell away and I was a teenager again, coming for a visit. She was very surprised to see me. We sat on a bench under her apple trees and I cried for the first time that morning. It was like I was just waiting to get home before I finally allowed myself to really believe that Grandma was gone. Seeing Beth, and later, Jim, again - it made it all *real* to me. They were - are! - an extreme comfort to me.
