Momentary Thought I hate car salesmen with a capital HATE. We're trying to take advantage of the 0% financing being offered right now, but there's *always* a catch. High/Low High: A very productive day at work, which usually puts me in a good mood. Low: May not be able to get the truck we want, if I can't finagle some financial stuff. Current Obsession A 2001 3/4 ton Silverado Crew Cab. Black, with tan interior. Mine mine mine. I want. Grin Source I love Amazon's pre-ordering function. My brand new copy of "Narcissus in Chains" (the next Anita Blake novel) is on its way to me, and I didn't have to do a darn thing! Singing Umm... A Year Ago More or less A Monday fraught with homesickness. Storyteller Bio Dramatis Personnae Who I Read Recipes |
1. What's the best bed you've ever slept in? That would be the bed in my room at my grandmother's. Although the quality of sleep may be less related to the bed itself, and more related to where the bed *was*. 2. What never fails to relax you? A massage from Calvin. Or a hot bubble bath with candles, wine, and a good book. 3. What song, book or movie never fails to reduce you to a blubbering mound of kleenex? "What Dreams May Come", with Robin Williams and Annabella Sciorra. Calvin and I are convinced that that's "really the way it is". 4. What would you do if you were brave and knew you wouldn't fail? Be a concert pianist. 5. Do you hold a grudge or do you forgive? Why? I never hold a grudge, and I always forgive. I'm usually the one to say "I'm sorry" first, even if I'm not convinced that "it" was my fault. Calvin says I'm too soft. 6. If you could change one thing that you did today, what would you change? Why? I think I would have just gotten up earlier. But it's early in the day yet, so there's plenty of time for mistakes. 7. What is the most vibrant or significant memory you had from your elementary school years? The time in kindergarten when our class went to see "Sesame Street On Ice", and my teacher gave me a picture she'd taken of Big Bird, because I was her favorite. That, or making snow boulders at recess that were the height of three kids. 8. What one talent or skill would you love to be able to have or do that you know you likely will never be able to master in this life? Drawing. I just plain suck at it. 9. Was high school a painful process for you or the best time of your life? It was the most indifferent time of my life. I got along well enough with everyone, but was never in any type of "crowd". All the fun stuff I did was outside of school, with my horseback riding. 10. What was your very most favorite t.v. show as a kid? Why? When I was *really* little it was Fame. I liked to dance along with the characters, there in front of the TV. From about 6-8ish it was The Dukes of Hazzard. I was in love with Bo. As a teenager it was Star Trek: The Next Generation. I was in love with Wesley. BIG *was*, there. 11. Who would you pick to play you in a movie based on your life? Why? Calvin says I look like Minnie Driver or Kate Winslet (I guess it depends on the lighting). So based on looks, I guess it would be either one of them. I *wish* it were Jeri Ryan. Based on personality, I'm thinking I'd have to have auditions for some unknown that would break into the acting society, kick ass, and take names. Heh. 12. If you could go back to your younger self and tell him/her something that you wish you'd known back then, what would you say? How old is that younger self? Don't marry X(m)! Go to England with that riding coach! Or go to college! (I was 17.) 13. If you could choose to be a character in a book, who would you choose? Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter. Yarg. 14. When did you most resent your siblings? (For only children: when were you happiest to be an only child?) I most resented my sister when the got a Corvette for her 16th birthday. Actually, I resented her when she crashed it a few months later, because I knew that would ruin any chances of *me* getting a kick-ass car for my 16th birthday. 15. If you could have a conversation with one person who has died, who would it be? That's easy. My grandmother. I want to have that conversation I never had with her, about her history and what she was like when she was growing up. What was the setting behind all the pictures we have of her when she was young, when she was first married, and all through her life. I want to record it. 16. Would you rather cheat on your significant other or have them cheat on you? Why? Gah, I have to pick one? I guess I'd rather have him cheat on me, so I can be mad at him. I'd rather feel mad than feel guilty. 17. Which of the Seven Deadly Sins are you most guilty of? Are you trying to fix it, and if so, how? Past tense, I was guilty of committing adultery. And I'm never, ever, ever going to do it again. 18. When looking back on your life, who is the one person that you weren't close to that you wish you had become better friends with? Hmm, this is a tough one. I guess there were plenty of kids in school that I didn't give a chance. I probably should make friends with my neighbors, just so I have someone to keep an eye on my house when I'm out of town. Oh! And because they're worthy people, too, I'm sure. (~grin~) 19. What fictional character would you most like to have as a co-worker? Why? The character that Oded Faihr played in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. Just because he's fun to look at. Plus, it'd be fun to have a swarthy, sword-bearing, horse riding type in some of the meetings I have to attend. 20. If you could break any law, with no consequences, what law would you break? Why? I'd rob a bank. Because I really, really need the cash. 21. If you created a Rock and Roll band, what would your band be called and what would you play? We'd be called The African Anteaters, and I'd play the keyboard and do vocals. Calvin would be lead guitar, Marie would be drums, Michael would be rhythm guitar. 22. What has been your best job? Your worst job? My most *fun* job was as a horse trainer/instructor/exerciser at Sabbatical Farms in Freeport, Maine. My most *successful* job is the one I hold now at AcronymCo. My worst job was as a transcriber in a windowless office for an ergonomics firm in Portland, Maine. It was even worse than the job I held at Burger King as Drive Thru Queen. 23. What is your greatest regret? Why? Not spending more time with my grandmother, because she's gone now and I'll never have the opportunity to say and do all the things I wanted to. 24. If you could suddenly have some sort of superpower, what would you choose? Why? I'd totally love to fly. I've had flying dreams before, and have woken up with the feeling that I was just on the *edge* of knowing how, but couldn't hold onto the dream long enough to grasp it. Part of the assignment is to make up two new questions for the survey, so... 25. What one food do you eat that makes everyone around you look at you like you've grown a third eyeball? Penut Butter and Marshmallow Fluff (cream) sandwiches. Fluffernutters! The penut butter has to be brand new and unopened, as does the fluff. My knife has to make the first virgin impressions in the surface, like new fallen snow. The bread has to be white, a brand new loaf with two slices taken from the middle. The milk has to be unopened and near-freezing. 26. What Bugs Bunny cartoon ability would you find to be the most useful in real life? Dropping anvils on people's heads. I get the urge to do something like that at least forty times a day. |
