October 19, 200335,000 WordsSadly, these will be the last baby pictures for a while. Unless a certain pair of parents sends us some new ones! ![]() Heather bought Anthony the cutest pair of Halloween costumes - one a tiger, one a pumpkin. As you can see by this picture, he doesn't think "Baby's First Costume" is as exciting as we do. ![]() Heather, taking her turn holding the baby. The "Motorhead" T-shirt is actually very appropriate! ;) ![]() Takin' a snooze. ![]() Contrary to common belief, we actually let Lilly hold her own son while they were here. Now and then. Once or twice, at least. ![]() Sleepin' some more. ![]() Grandpa, showin' the boy how burping is done around here! ![]() Winking at Auntie Marie! Kissy! ![]() This picture cracks me up. "Yo yo yo, my brutha!" ![]() Did I mention I hardly wanted to put him down? ![]() "Hungry Hungry Hippo!!" ![]() Milk buzz. This kid's hard core. ![]() Two handsome guys. ![]() Lookin' at Grandpa! ![]() Not so much sitting up, as propped up. ![]() Such a snuggle bug! ![]() If I kissed his head once, I kissed it forty million times. Love that baby smell! ![]() Calvin's birthday, showing off his presents.
![]() "Look, Ma, a helmet!"
![]() Calvin, sporting his new helmet, on his motorcycle. ![]() Michael took a ride with him to go pick the truck up at the shop. ![]() Michael and Lilly sharing a moment. ![]() This is when we were all looking at the family pictures, the last day they were here. ![]() Gratuitous Ozzy photo! ![]() Michael and Lilly shooting pool. ![]() I was trying to use up the last of the roll. ![]() Here's a shot that Heather took of Marie and I, with Gadget and Gypsy, at the Mutt Walk yesterday. I'm such a cheese. ![]() This is Mitzen, AB's puppy. She and her daughter brought this little mop over one evening when they spent the night with us. Oz, strangely enough, was freaked the heck out by this little thing. ![]() AB, her daughter, and Mitzen. ![]() Here's a shot of the flowers on the Trumpet Vines in the back yard. ![]() Goddard Mansion, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. It's on the same property (Fort Williams) as the Portland Head Light. I took this in July when Marie, her friend, and I went to spend a week with my sister in Old Orchard Beach. ![]() A picture of my sister's oldest daughter. Those eyebrows run in the family. ![]() Another shot of Goddard Mansion. The plaquard out front reads: The Goddard Mansion was completed in 1858 for John Goddard (1811-1870) to an Italiante villa design prepared by Portland architect Charles Alexander, who planned other promenent buildings in the area. It was built of native stone and was one of the first grand houses to be built along the Cape Elizabeth shore. Goddard had been successful in the lumber business, and then in 1853 he purchased the Cape Cottage, a popular summer hotel built in 1835. The mansion was built on a portion of the hotel property. Goddard was active in a number of local businesses and was appointed colonel of the 1st Maine Regiment of Calvary during the Civil War, but he saw no action. The mansion was acquired in 1898 by the U.S. Army and was used for housing married enlisted men and their families stationed in Fort Williams. The basement was converted into the fort's Non-Commisioned Officer's Club. ![]() Love the angles, arches, and shadows of this place. I've been fascinated with it since I was little. ![]() I'll probably do a full entry of our trip to Maine, but not before I (finally) finish up the Maui entries. Comments on this entry? Head on over to Colloquial! |
