| No, this isn't a Grease revival (though that soundtrack kicks ass. I went to a revival viewing with Archibael and his wife once, and the whole audience was doing the motions to "Grease Lightning" and quoting back the lines and all that stuff). Nope, I'm pimping again ("...did you stay out all night..."), but that song's well and truly stuck in my head now ("...did she put up a fight..."). Oh, heck with it... "Summer days, driftin' away, but uh-oh those summer nights!"Sorry. Had to get it out of my system. I can concentrate now. (Readers: "Yeah, right, whatever Laura." Hush, you.) Damn if I haven't found a bunch more jewels that I've been perusing on a semi-regular basis. I've got so many "favorites" I'm having a hard time keeping up. *Especially* to those folks who read me and have even *linked* to me, and I haven't linked to them yet. Is that poor journaler etiquette, I wonder? My conscience tells me "yes". Anyhoo, onward and upward...BobofettAnd why the heck am I attracted to journals that record all things scatological lately? First it was Sarah, then it was Jen - heck, even Viv was poo-oriented today! Anyway, Bobofett promises to amuse, and you'll really, really want to touch her monkeys. Go on, you know you want to.Out From InsideNia has a very interesting outlook on life. I hate to use the term "lifestyle" because of the connotations it conjures. Let's say she offers a window into a very interesting world. Very cool lady, is Nia.Other journals I've perused, but not really gotten very far into. I'm looking forward to Perforated Lines starting up again, which I've been assured will be soon. I'm addicted, and the myriads of suggestions and links to be found at ThreeWay Action is wrecking havoc on my productivity. I'm oh, so brokenhearted. Really. (blinks winsomely) Looking for a good readAnybody out there have any suggestions for a good book? I mean a really good one. One with lots of character development. One that makes me care about what happens. One with 600+ pages so I don't have to give the fictional world up too soon (and please, nobody say "Tad Williams". I did his "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" series, which I loved, but then his "Otherland" stuff was unmitigated crap). Problem is, it's been so many years since I've been able to read with any kind of regularity. I find myself with a bit more spare time on my hands now (plus the *desire* to do so, which was absent for a while), and I've discovered that I've "outgrown" all the old authors I used to eat up like candy.Speaking of which, does anybody out there love Mary Stewart as much as I do? The majority of her stuff was written in the 50's (and 60's?), and the stories took place in England, Athens, Crete... I just adore her style. Old-fashioned, really, with use of description for tastes and environment and impressions that's rarely used (in my experience) today. Lots of pre- and post-WWII stuff, all with females as leading characters. "Airs Above The Ground", "Nine Coaches Waiting", "The Moon-Spinners", "This Rough Magic", "Madame, Will You Talk?", "My Brother Michael" - ringing any bells with anyone? She also did a more recent quadrology about Merlin and King Arthur which is so worth the read, even if you're not a medieval fan. I picked up practically her entire collection of works at a used book sale, and they're great. Thick-papered with that old book smell. I read them so much I'm afraid of wearing them out, and having to go pick up a new copy just for the sake of keeping the stories. This is driving me nuts...Somebody's laptop around here is in the process of dying, and it's beep-beep-beeping continuously. Hang on, digging out my hammer and going off in search of it...Apparently it must be in my head. I turn my head one way, and it's loud and clear. I turn my head the other way, and I can't hear it at all. Maybe it's a time bomb in my brain, ticking away... People here at AcronymCo sure are looking at me strangely, stalking around in search of a sound apparently *nobody else can hear*. My abs hurt.I started up with a regular workout routine again, now that things have calmed down a bit around here. I know I have the potential for a Rockin' Body. At the moment, it's more along the lines of Easy Listening. Pleasant, but not head-turning. Less like AC/DC and more like Journey. So it's back on a four day regime, cardio and weight training, less carbs, more veggies. I got great results when I was on the routine earlier this year, then life/HIPFH(tm)/work/school got revved up to a stupid degree. Now, no more excuses.PremiereIn an effort to establish some continuity in this website, and with my readers, (and with myself), I offer to you what I plan to be a daily (read: every entry) addition. I'm going to follow these myself, and let you know what happens in the next entry. If you choose to follow them yourselves, it'd be great if you'd write me and describe your experience. Let me know if you'd allow me to post your experience here, as well. E-mail me with mission suggestions, too! Let's see what kind of fun we can have, shall we? It won't be lame, I promise. And I won't get you into trouble, either (though that may be fun). I promise that, too. And, since I don't steal without publicizing it, I'd like to point out that Anna's design, with a few modest adjustments, was the template for the box thingy you see here. |

Your Mission, should you choose to accept it...
Talk to a person you're very close to. Like, someone you think you know everything about. Find out something completely new about them you didn't know before.
Results From Yesterday's Mission There ain't none. Because there was no mission. Because I just started this thing. It may or may not flop. I grabbed the design idea for the box thingy from Anna.
