Whispering Update

"When Cameron was in Egypt Land... let my Cameron go...."

You can't hear me, but I'm whispering. That's because I've had no voice to speak of (har) since Monday. Bronchitis is a bitch.

I worked from home on Monday and Tuesday, went to work on Wednesday, collapsed in a sobbing heap on Thursday and slept all day except for a brief hour during which I went to see the doctor who prescribed! drugs! lovely drugs! And now it's Friday. I made it to work. And my boss is telling me to go home.

I love my boss.

Calvin has been in Flagstaff from Monday until last night, when he finally came home to pat my head and feed me. We watched "Mean Girls" with Marie. It cracked my shit up. We ate Mexican take-out from Espo's. It was the first actual meal I've had all week. With no one to cook for, I survived off of grilled cheese sandwiches, toast, tea, and one night I got up the gumption to boil a couple of potatoes. I was going to go through the drive-thru at Taco Bell, but they have a hard time understanding me when I can actually speak. I figured it was a silly thought to try to order with laryngitis.

Marie worked every night this week, except for Tuesday when she and her boyfriend went out for dinner with X(f). Which meant that I was home alone pretty much all. week. long. It was nice, for the first day or two, but then the cat wouldn't listen to my repeated requests for him to make me some toast or get me more tea, so it started to get old.

I've read six books since Monday. Six. Which, you know, is cool and all, but I really wanted to use the opportunity this week while Calvin was away and Marie was working to go to the gym at least a few times. I try to go to the gym when it impacts my family life the least (Saturday and Sunday mornings before anyone gets up), and I thought this week would give me a good jump start on a regular workout routine. Finally.

Wrong-o.

And that's the news. Take care, all! I'm off to cough and be pathetic some more.
