Still golden?

Sorry for the extended (unanticipated) silence. I've been bombarded by work, babies, and marathon TV-watching sessions, in that order. Michael, Lilly, Lilly's sister, Anthony, and Devlin have been here since a week ago yesterday, and are leaving this Thursday. It's been warm and fuzzy chaos around here.

A journal update is in the works, but God knows when I'll post it. I'm after some pictures, and I want to try to load a mini-movie of the kids. Which requires learning the movie editing software, and learning how to code it in HTML so that the link works.

But! There is time ahead, all warm and beckoning. I am on vacation from the 1st through the 6th, with nothing else on the agenda but cooking and keeping the house clean. Surely there shall be time for pictures and movies and entries. Topics:

- The work with the headphones and the "Do Not Disturb" sign.
- When did Anthony turn into a little boy? With bonus Monk Haircut!
- Ow. My uterus. Plus, "Teleconferencing With Devlin".
- Calvin. Very worried about Calvin.
- Random thoughts and doings and whatnot.

Storyteller

Long time readers will recall the Storyteller collab I used to moderate. It's been on hiatus for a long time, but now I'm happy to announce that it's back with a new look and some new features.

I hope that all of the former members return, and that we see a lot of new interest. If you'd like to join the Yahoo! Group member list, here's how. It's not a snobby, difficult group to join. Just check out the rules. And if you're interested, you can find the topics and contributions from Storyteller's former incarnation here.

Dance, Bitches!

This is fun. Since my last entry, quite a few people have requested copies of my "Dance, Bitches!" mix CD. I had to make some slight adjustments to the playlist that I originally posted (I was optimistic when I thought I could fit 23 songs on one CD), so here's the new one, complete with Parental Advisories:

Dance, Bitches!
  1. Sweat - C&C Music Factory
  2. Switch - Will Smith
  3. Pon De Replay - Rihanna
  4. Unbelievable - EMF
  5. Holla Back Girl - Gwen Stefani (says "shit" a lot)
  6. Tailfeather - Sean Combs (a couple of naughty words)
  7. Would I Lie To You - Eurythmics
  8. Mind on the Road - Rev Run (my new favorite song, can't really remember if it has naughty words or not)
  9. You Should Be Dancing - Bee Gees
  10. Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm
  11. Labor Day - Black Eyed Peas (says "retarded" and "shit" a lot)
  12. Headsprung - LL Cool J
  13. Do Ya Think I'm Sexy - N-Trance
  14. I Just Wanna Live - Good Charlotte
  15. Move Your Body - Nina Sky
  16. Cold Hard Bitch - Jet (uh, uses "bitch" a lot)
  17. Groove Is In The Heart - Dee Lite
  18. Sandstorm - Da Rude
  19. Seven Nation Army - Punk Division
  20. One Ticket to the Party - White Devil (my other new favorite song - which is also EXPLICIT)

I think I may be dumb (hush, you). I have the CD's for a lot of these songs, and I'd rather make a copy of the song off of the original CD than download a potentially lower-quality version off of Morpheus. Apparently it's not as easy as looking up the file list of the CD on File Manager and copying it to my hard drive. Can anybody out there tell me how to do it?

I'm still taking requests if anybody wants a copy! Shipping to countries other than the US is no issue at all.

If I could walk on water would you believe in me?

Heh.

Downloading songs for my Dance, Bitches! mix CD, and listening to Sirius Big '80's. Calvin has departed to get more likker ("Likker? I hardly knew her!")

Eep.

Calvin has been in a funk for the last week, but sitting here figuring which songs to download, and hearing "Hey, I haven't heard this in FOREVER!" songs has made him feel better. I'm trying to get ahold of Marie to bring some of her friends over and SPEND SOME TIME WITH US and also be entertaining, because we're kind of bored. We wish for a teenage daughter to embarrass in front of her friends. That would fix things.

I'm leaving her the fourth voicemail message of the night. And now I just called her again, and she said she's gathering friends to come over and play pool and generally entertain us. Heh.

Red red wine, it's up to you...

New entry

There's a new entry up on the journal. Thanks for reading!

The Journal is Back

Hi, all! I've posted an entry back over at Snerkology, which is now back to working order. Colloquial is still up if you have a burning desire to read stuff there, but I'll be keeping this blog for the minutae.

Join the notify list, and check out my new index page!

I feel alive, I feel a love, I feel a love that's really real.

I've just got to say that Rob and Julie (if the "now" link has changed, it's Rob's entry from Aug. 10) are the most loving, most fantastic, most incredible parents in the universe. There should be more people in the world like them. And finally, some good news, and a direction for Schuyler that looks bright and positive!!!

And so, for them, I'm walkin' on sunshine, whoa-oh! And don't it feel good!
