One of those, "How Women do it vs. how Men do it" things.

Oil Change instructions for Women:

1) Pull up to Jiffy Lube when the mileage reaches 3000 miles since the last oil change.
2) Drink a cup of coffee.
3) 15 minutes later, write a check and leave with a properly maintained vehicle.

Money spent:
Oil Change $20.00
Coffee $1.00
Total $21.00
=============================

Oil Change instructions for Men:

1) Wait until Saturday, drive to auto parts store and buy a case of oil, filter, kitty litter, hand cleaner and a scented tree, write a check for $50.00.
2) Stop by 7 - 11 and buy a case of beer, write a check for $20, drive home.
3) Open a beer and drink it.
4) Jack car up. Spend 30 minutes looking for jack stands.

14) Spend 30 minutes looking for oil filter wrench.
15) Give up; crawl under car and hammer a screwdriver through oil filter and twist off
16) Crawl out from under car with dripping oil filter splashing oil everywhere from holes. Cleverly hide old oil filter among trash in trash can to avoid environmental penalties. Drink a beer.
17) Buddy shows up; finish case of beer with him. Decide to finish oil change tomorrow so you can go see his new garage door opener.

29) Discover that first quart of fresh oil is now on the floor. Throw kitty litter on oil spill.
30) Drink beer.
31) Crawl under car getting kitty litter into eyes. Wipe eyes with oily rag used to clean drain plug. Slip with stupid crescent wrench tightening drain plug and bang knuckles on frame.
32) Bang head on floorboards in reaction to step 31.
33) Begin cussing fit.

I'm a 43 - and if Dr. Phil says so, it must be true!

Post your results in the comments!

Below is Dr Phil's test. (Dr. Phil scored 55; he did this test on
Oprah she got a 38.) Read on, this is very interesting! Don't be overly sensitive! The following is pretty accurate and it only takes 2 minutes. Take this test for yourself and send it to your friends.

This is a real test given by the Human Relations Dept. at many of the major corporations today. It helps them get better insight concerning their employees and prospective employees. It's only 10 simple questions, so grab a pencil and paper, keeping track of your letter answers to each question.

10. You often dream that you are...

POINTS:
1. (a) 2 (b) 4 (c) 6
2. (a) 6 (b) 4 (c) 7 (d) 2 (e) 1
3. (a) 4 (b) 2 (c) 5 (d) 7 (e) 6
4. (a) 4 (b) 6 (c) 2 (d) 1
5. (a) 6 (b) 4 (c) 3 (d) 5 (e) 2
6. (a) 6 (b) 4 (c) 2
7. (a) 6 (b) 2 (c) 4
8. (a) 6 (b) 7 (c) 5 (d) 4 (e) 3 (f) 2 (g) 1
9. (a) 7 (b) 6 (c) 4 (d) 2 (e) 1
10. (a) 4 (b) 2 (c) 3 (d) 5 (e) 6 (f) 1

Now add up the total number of points.
OVER 60 POINTS: Others see you as someone they should "handle with care." You're seen as vain, self-centered, and who is extremely dominant. Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don't always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you.

51 TO 60 POINTS: Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, who's quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones. They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure. They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.

41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.

31 TO 40 POINTS: Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust In your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

21 TO 30 POINTS: Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy. They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder. It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then, usually decide against it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.

UNDER 21 POINTS: People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions & who doesn't want to get involved with anyone or anything! They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don't exist.

Positive thoughts and prayers, please!

Many of you are familiar with Dana of Bobofett, and her adoring relationship with her grandparents. Angelo is gravely ill and in the hospital, so please send good thoughts and prayers out to her and her family!

Innards

I have started reading Open Book, Jennifer's blog. She has links to her Johari and Nohari windows on her website, and when I checked them out I was very interested. And so, I have linked my own Johari and Nohari windows over there on the right hand side under "Innards". Please take the opportunity to describe me in six words or less! You don't even have to be nice. Heh.

Excitement!

Two fun things are happening in the Animal Planet household. First off, I just got off the phone with Marie, who called me directly after enrolling in college and signing up for fall semester classes. She will be the first in the family (blood family that is, as I had better have my effing degree before 2009) to graduate from college. She's going to community college for her Associates, then transferring to ASU to become an RN. Imagine that!!! We're terribly proud of her - after a rocky couple of years, she seems to be firmly on-track for her future.

The second thing is, my grandson Devlin is a genius. He, at the ripe old age of 16 months, called his Grandma last night to chat. I had just finished a conversation with Lilly about an hour before, when the phone rang again. I picked up with a, "Hey, what's up?" Because caller ID lets you do that. All I heard on the other end was some breathing and mumbling. So I'm all, "Hello? Is there a grown-up on the other end?" More mumbling and breathing, then I heard Michael in the background say, "What'cha doing, Devlin? Hey, buddy, who you talkin' to?"

He then took the phone from Devlin and said, "Hello?"
I responded with a, "Hey, what's going on?"
He said, "Who is... oh, hi!"
"Your son just called me."
"He did?"
"Yep, he must have hit redial or something."
"Huh! Weird!"
"No, not weird. He wanted to talk to his Grandma! Your son is a genius! He gets that from me."
"Uhhh... riiight."

This is what I do when I'm bored...

... I change my Blog template. Actually, I really like the designs and features that Wordpress has to offer, but it seems like too much of a pain in the ass to transfer all the stuff over from Blogger. I also toyed changing the journal over to Moveable Type, as I've seen a lot of journals and websites that use MT and they're pretty cool. Again, though, it seems like too much of a pain. When one has been on the internet for nearly six years, well, moving to a different editing platform is pretty damned daunting.
