I'm delighted you're here! There are plenty of areas of this site which will help you familiarize yourself with me, my life, my family, my craziness, and other folks who are just as crazy. You'll notice on my Main Page that there are links to previous entries, the latest revision of my bio (no journaler has just one!), and the talented circle of other journalers I read. You can familiarize yourself with the people I talk about on a regular basis, as well. Please, don't be shy, because I adore receiving mail and feedback. Most journalers do. It's why we've gone "live". Editor's note: All entries before April of 2001 point to the e-mail address "geckotlc@cs.com", which is no longer active.
If you choose to read, I would really love to hear from you. I'm always curious about how folks heard about me, and what keeps them reading. To get notifications when this site is updated, send an e-mail, or visit Yahoo Groups. This will enable you to receive an e-mail whenever I post a new entry to my site. And, when I don't have time to do a full update, I occasionally send updates through the group list. Also, I have a guest book which doesn't have nearly enough notations in it, so go sign it!
I love to cook. As such, I post a lot of recipes in my entries. You can find a directory of them here.
I started Storyteller in February of 2001. "Storyteller" is a collaborative effort for people who enjoy writing. Each month a new collaborative idea will be offered, in the form of fictional story ideas or character development. Participant's entries are linked on this website to create a fun, sharing, creative effort. "Rules" (and there are only a few) are listed on the Storyteller page. Storyteller is currently on hiatus, so join its Notify List if you're interested in knowing when it's going to start back up again!
I also belong to a number of collaborative efforts. All entries that are a collaboration assignment are indicated as such in the archive pages.
I hang out at Snerkology's sister blog, Colloquial, quite a bit. I also maintain a health and fitness blog, called Operation::Goddess.
As far as technical stuff goes, this website was originally designed using pure HTML in Notepad. I then got a brain, and purchased Allaire's HomeSite (version 4.5.1), which made my life vastly easier, and my spelling errors much less frequent. All photographs on this site are edited using Adobe Photoshop version 5.5. Most of the pictures are taken with my digital camera, a Mavica. This site is hosted by Dreamhost, who has been a wonderful service provider thus far. The notify list is courtesy of Yahoo Groups. I am registered with a number of webrings, the list of which you can see by scrolling down through my index page. Statistics on my website are provided by Site Meter. The little mood icon in my entries is provided by imood.com.
So! Now you're fully prepared for what awaits you. If anyone can be prepared, that is. Enjoy, explore to your heart's content, and again, welcome!
